Disclaimer: I don't own this, this belongs to Heavy Gear and Heavy Gear 2, go buy them from a bargain bin somewhere.

"Weren't those things supposed to operate alone? Weren't they invincible lone wolves or something?"

"I think so sir."

"So...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT OTHER SUIT?"

"Uh...sir?"

"WHAT?"

"It can see us.

*Gunfire fills the air until recording ends.*

Recording of encounter between Chechnyan fighters attempting to attack a Russian Army Warlord Power Armor Unit and a Russian Army scout operating a Eurocorp Cheetah Recon and Support Power Armor.

Eurocorp 'Cheetah' Recon and Support Power Armor
The Warlord and Leviathan were stunning successes due to the fact that many military commanders both private and government could let them run rampant and not worry about them running into opposition.

However, the smart few knew that a determined resistance could bring down a Warlord or Leviathan and quietly requested Eurocorp for a lighter and faster power armor that could move ahead of the slower heavy units and take out opposition that the heavy units might not be able to respond to effectively.

To their shock, Eurocorp told them that they already had a design waiting to be used. The private unveiling of the Cheetah, a light and nimble but still tough and durable recon power armor was met with open applause by the invited commanders and orders were made immediately.

The Cheetah is built to move ahead of the more powerful Leviathan and Warlords and seek out traps and obstacles before clearing them from the path of the heavier suits. Often this means engaging in combat and the Cheetah is built not to shy away from a fight, armed with a deadly 14.5mm Assault Rifle or a Maximus 14.5mm Heavy Machinegun, 23mm Sniper Cannon, a pair of shoulder mounted eight-shot standard missile launchers and one of a pair of new micro-missile launchers from Seburo firing 40mm micro-missiles, ensuring that the Cheetah is well equipped for engagements.

Apart from weaponry and tough armor, the main selling point of the Cheetah is speed, its specially designed artificial muscle package allows it to range far ahead and strike targets long before a Warlord or Leviathan will lumber through it and many say that the speed of a running Cheetah fully equipped is comparable to a GD-verse werecheetah at full sprint, even over rough terrain, thanks to a revolutionary system supposedly inspired by a videogame and the Britannian Knightmare mecha though that has yet to be proven.

Currently the Russian Army and Spetnaz, the UAE and Great Britain's SAS have purchased the Cheetah in bulk, with some private military firms also looking at purchasing the system.

Author's Note:
That's it for LA Armor Profiles, and I'm rather please with myself. One day I'll have to do up an entry that I actually drew myself, but for now these will have to do since I work creatively through writing.

The next set of weapons and vehicles will come from the Janes Information Group, focusing on military vehicles produced entirely within Los Angeles, so stay tuned for Janes LA; detailing three helicopters, three aerodynes, three fighters, two bombers, two tanks and a watercraft.

My first guess for the Cheetah would have been that it was a reverse-engineered, Coreline-ized Knightmare Frame (heck, in the European theatre it might not even be sold as the Cheetah but with some mythical horse´s name).

Maybe it was made out of something like the ´Glasgow´-Class Knightmare Frame... and of course, many people are just trying to imitate such monsters as the Lancelot-Class and the Shinkiro using other Fictional tech (like Droideka shields for the Shinkuro, for example).

The Eurocorp Cheetah is sold to the Britannian and European militaries as the 'Eurocorp Reaper' due to a small legend forming of Cheetah-wearing special forces, army scouts and snipers using visible laser designators to literally mark their targets for death before killing them, as well as killing anyone who saw them to leave no witnesses, thus proving true the old adage that 'the Reaper stalks the battlefield'.

As for the design inspiration, that is classified unfortunately.
